Erica Turley

I had always loved teaching in my previous career, and I had aimed to become an educator within this industry within the first few years of being qualified. After receiving numerous messages and emails from students asking me if I offer training, when I saw a position for an educator become available with Missu UK, I knew I just had to apply!

Bio

Hi I’m Erica, I’m 35 years old, wife and mum of 4 beautiful children and my absolute passion in life is nails! I spent the first 15 years of my working career as a registered nurse, health visitor and nurse prescriber. I decided to take a career break from nursing and doing my own nails as a hobby rapidly grew into a career which I never anticipated!

I qualified in February 2017, firstly training in manicure and pedicure, then gel polish, gel tip and overlay, conversion to acrylic sculpting, master acrylic 3D art and extreme length, e file training and I plan to complete competition training by the end of 2018.

Within my first year of business I filled my diary to full capacity, my work and blogs are published in both Scratch Magazine and Professional Beauty Magazine on a frequent basis, I’ve featured in newspaper articles, I’ve filmed adverts, I’ve held seminar’s live on stage at Professional Beauty North (Manchester Central) and Professional Beauty London (London ExCeL), I’ve taken part in charity events and I was given an amazing opportunity to become an educator with Missu UK in 2018.

I’ve dedicated my life to my career, I work 7 days a week and I’m beyond passionate about what I do. I take pride in my work and attention to detail is paramount. I believe in stepping stones, learning the basics well and consistently puts you in good stead for growing your talent and skill.

Not only will I teach you how become a competent nail technician with a young and fresh approach, I will also share with you how I’ve built my career in such a short space of time, in view of helping you to do the same. I appreciate what it’s like to try and learn something new, especially being a busy mum like myself, if I can do it, you can too!

I want to help others enjoy this industry as much as I do, even if it’s to help people earn an additional income, or facilitate those who are wanting to have a change of career, like myself, and to show you that anything is possible!

I have trained(educator) with other companies. And not all meets the eye in terms of professionalism. Missu however are by far leading in the industry. Products? The best I’ve used, i will never use anything else! And as for being a member of team Missu? I genuinely have never felt so supported and valued.

Bio
I have worked in this industry for around 15 years. I first trained with 0.P.I back in 2003/4 when french was the choice of many! (If not all) . My passion for the ‘perfect deep smileline’ gained me a maximum clientele very quickly, i felt my ‘educating’ side blossomed back then, as my clients quickly learned a good prep/set of nails to a bad prep/set.
My life for many years was hectic to say the least! Bringing up 2 children and keeping a full diary! Not easy!
In recent years i gained my Educator title, i felt the industry lacked experienced educators. Not only do educators pass on skills/hygiene/safety.. but knowledge of how to build healthy working relationships and most importantly.. keep a full diary!
My work caught the attention of celebrity nail artist Jenny Longworth. Being invited to be part of her team for london and milan fashion weeks have been a massive career highlight, seeing your work on a Gucci runway..i mean could it get better?.
Training with myself will entale a lot of focus on ‘perfecting’ the enhancement/very clean and sharp designs/ super clean cuticals and smilelines.

Becoming an educator for Missu, has been the turning point in my career. Not only are the products the best I’ve ever used, but the support and friendship really makes every second worthwhile.
We are a team, with the same vision, passion and enthusiasm, and I’m so proud to work for Missu.

After studying art for many years I felt I had no creative outlet, I have always had a passion for nails and knew that this was the career for me.
After I completed my training there was no looking back, I had my creativity fix, and there was nothing that compared to the feeling of a beautiful set of nails that I had created.
For me, nails is now part of daily life, the accomplishment of trying something new, happy customers and also a magical bond between a nail tech and their clients.
I aspire to create the same excitement for my students, allowing them LOVE their job in turn. Learning should be fun, informative and jam packed full of glitter, and choosing to learn within #teammissu guarantees all of the above!
The best part for me, is seeing my students progress, watching them blossom into amazing nail technicians. Being part of their journey is so rewarding, especially once they receive their certificates and realise how far they have came.
